Stellarium Debian Package

Stellarium is now available in Debian and Ubuntu. It can be easy installed with apt-get. My packages are no longer required.

Stellarium is a free GPL software which renders realistic skies in real time with openGL. It is available for Linux/Unix, Windows and MacOSX. With Stellarium, you really see what you can see with your eyes, binoculars or a small telescope. Graphic acceleation

There is a poor performance without OpenGL acceleration. Therefor i'm installing the ATI Package (under Ubuntu):

    apt-get install xorg-driver-fglrx

With i386 there is no problem and the performance is 75fps (details available under Ubuntu Wiki BinaryDriver Howto. Under amd64 no way to get this working. Further informations can be found under Ubuntu BugNr 5780
